Scientists have attempted to test the association between anabolic steroids and aggression by administering high steroid doses or placebo for days or weeks to human volunteers and then asking the people to report on their behavioral symptoms. To date, four such studies have been conducted. In three, high steroid doses did produce greater feelings of irritability and aggression than did placebo, although the effects appear to be highly variable across individuals. In one study, the drugs did not have that effect. One possible explanation, according to the researchers, is that some but not all anabolic steroids increase irritability and aggression. Recent animal studies show an increase in aggression after steroid administration.
Truth: The truth is – it’s not. No anabolic steroid is safe when the endocrine system is developing or not fully mature. We have already touched on the effects on the HPTA (Hypothalamic Pituitary-Testicular Axis) and it causes some degree of suppression. This is magnified when Anavar is used by teens and those without a fully matured endocrine system and a baseline level of testosterone. It will cause damage, though, less than other anabolic steroids, but it can cause issues and if its used during young ages, use a lower dose of 20-30mg daily for males and limit use. Anavar will not cause stunted growth or loss of height during puberty as it does not directly influence estrogen levels or aromatase , but can due to testosterone inhibition cause changes.
As with all anabolic steroids Oxandrolone will suppress natural testosterone production in men. Testosterone suppression does vary from steroid to steroid in terms of the rate and Oxandrolone is one of the milder forms. However, most all men will still need some form of exogenous testosterone if they are using Oxandrolone at any significant dose for any significant time. Those who do not supplement with testosterone have an excellent chance of putting themselves into a low testosterone condition. For the purpose of information a performance level dosing of Oxandrolone will suppress natural testosterone production in most men by dropping serum testosterone levels by 50%. This will put most men into a low level state and if not certainly in a below optimal state.
Once the use of Oxandrolone is done and it along with all anabolic steroids has cleared the body natural testosterone production will begin again. It’s important to note that recovering prior natural levels assumes no prior low level condition existed and that there was no damage done to the HPTA during steroid use . Most men will need a Post Cycle Therapy (PCT) plan to aid in recovery, but they should also note that PCT will not promote full recovery. It takes several months to recover from anabolic steroid use and there’s no guarantee that you always will even with the best PCT plan in the world.
